We bought $20 gift cards for all staff and faculty of our local Elementary School and had the congregation write notes of encouragement and thanks. We adopted this elementary school two years ago and have been trying to find ways to bless them during a really difficult school year. We are also planning to provide them with a box lunch from a local restaurant during Teacher Appreciation Week in May. We don’t know if anything will come of the gift cards or box lunch, and that’s okay! Our motive in giving wasn’t to get back or bring people to our church, it is simply to love and appreciate people in our community.
